Yes it's pretty simple. The 55 goes in front and makes sure that all the mobs are in his aggro circle before the Necro enters the battle, after this the necro can move everywhere as long as he dosn't aggro another group. This is great because if you need energy he can use br on you while your tanking, or if a nightmare pops up he can ran up and kill it without getting hit

Ahhh, Coldfires How to deal with these beasts? I cast OB Flesh and I'm fine but once it wears out, I get in trouble. My movement is slowed down and I'm attacked with all kinds of stuff! Maelstrom, deep freeze (?). How do we damage them? Just spiteful?

for minos/griffons/trolls you can use this exact build, except use Glyph of Renewal/Crystal Wave (200 amor-ignoring damage every 20 seconds) and just use the same ways of defense (prot spirit, healing, balthazar, essence, mending, aura)

Search is your friend he feels unloved please visit him.
1. FFS doesn't require Enchanted Load stones... it is for 3 Scortched load stones
2. The collector is south of serenity and west of Ranik
3. The collector doesn't appear all the time. I read you have to approach him alone to be able to get him to appear and I've also read that it is random as well as requiring favor.

Thanks. I've just begun farming with oro gear tanks. First time this side of Nolani Academy I've been nuking 7+ enemies at once.
So I'm beginning to understand the concept of holding aggro.

I've noticed a lot of people talking about farming gryphons with various elementalist builds, I'm just wondering how you guys get around the distracting shots from the devourers?

Just a quick thing about the Darknesscast PS and HB before aggroing them, then when u get either 2 or all 3 groups on you, have your nerco or mesmer cast SV on you. Won't have to worry about being interrupted since they lost energy and adlrenline. The 1 thing i prefer a mo/mes or elem/mo, mantra of resolve ftw

Patience and a multilingual supply of curse words. Or just run past them.
But I'm considering Mantra of Resolve as an alternative.

One flare should kill a dying nightmare. They are weak to fire dmg.
They die from one burst of Zealots fire, and flare has higher dmg.

I've been working with this build for a long time now, and even with restoration aura on me I could't tank 10 < smites.
|
ur running high earth for obsidian flesh, have u thought of using say ward vs melee?
here's the main issue i see with the builds in this thread - ur trying to deal damage, that's the necros job, focus on tanking, and maximizing survival
i do run this build in uw, and have over 2.5 mil xp on my ele, most necros i've gone with comment that i am faster then a monk and a lot have repeatedly asked me to slow up for their energy regen, always good for a laugh the necro begging the 55 to slow down
have messed with many variants of the build, finally settled on this as my standard build
prot spirit - always needed
healing breeze - always needed
obsidian flesh - needed anywhere enchantment removal is an issue
ward against melee - the ele's version of bonetti's defence
restoration - near full hp for every spell u cast
mending - always needed
essence bond - energy regen
balths spirit - energy regen
12 earth, 11 storage, 9 heal, 9 prot (could easily lose some storage for more earth if u think u need it)
now i only use ward when too many enemies are hitting me, the energy loss from using it on smaller groups is a waste, so most of the time it sits unused, but will save ur butt the odd time u get a large group, and once u get good, u can intentionally take larger pulls with ease
as mentioned orison is a great 5 point full hp heal, but at 1 sec cast i find it gets interupted when i need it the most, typically right after breeze gets interupoted for the 2nd time in a row, restoration has 2 benefits
1. it heals u for every spell u cast, allowing u to better tank larger mobs
2.it is a 1/4 sec cast 10 energy spell, so in the chance i need a hp boost asap, i recast restoration, 20 sec recharge i've got it up b4 i hit ps and breeze and aggro, it'll be ready by the time breeze is getting interupted and u need the hp, plus they very rarely int a 1/4 sec casting spell, so near instant hp, much faster then orison can do
leave the damage to the ss necro, his build its optimized for it, yours is optimized for tanking the impossible and walking away unscathed
ign: Crimson Chiasm (just in case anyone needs a demonstration)
edit (fixed a typo)

LOL. Funniest thing I've read in a while.
BTW, don't use Whirlwind if you are bringing a necro using Spiteful Spirit for damage. It's essential that the monsters be able to attack, and use skills and spell for SS to trigger (a couple posts were talking about the benefits of whirlwind and I didn't want people to think these work well together). If you must bring whirlwind, be sure everyone is calling their shots.
If you would like to take whirlwind and travel with a necro, try to work with spinal shivers and whirlwind. It seems much more efficient. I haven't tried it, but looks good in theory.
I have a necro, level 20, ascended with the 30 extra attribute point quests done. If anyone would like to experiment with some combos, let me know.

I found this on guildwiki:
"Coldfire Nights are elementalists and ranged so when they are static, nature rituals should be placed about 5 meters behind the traps instead of directly over them. The puller should then run past the spirits on the return hopefully allowing the coldfire to trigger the traps. Most Coldfire groups patrol and it is relatively easy to trap their path"
I have a necro/ranger if anyone would like to experiment with traps.
